In the Room
I have stayed at the Feathers once before and generally been happy, although the rooms aren't air conditioned. They do have wifi in the hotel but it all comes down to what room you are in. Some rooms get very poor reception. The food is generally very good.
My room ran out of water, not just hot water. I mean completely, with no water coming out of the taps or shower. I was in the middle of shaving, which was a nuisance. They offered to move me to another room, but that was a hassle. I finished shaving using bottled water. The manager said they replaced their boilers and had tested the system but they clearly hadn't tested my room. They didn't offer a discount on either my dinner the night before or the room rate, and I didn't ask for one. It would have been a nice gesture. I won't go back.
Lovely hotel but staff did not seem to know much about the area or about the history of the hotel.
The rooms were a little too modern, which made them look cheap rather than classy. Should have stuck to earthy colours and traditional fixtures/fittings to match the hotel and area.
Very comfortable room, loved the jelly beans!
Bathroom a little cold and no proper mirror.
excellent english country hotel food is good but breakfast should be better.
Excellent position relative to Blenheim Palace and Oxford. Attentive staff and a first class restaurant.
Lack of air conditioning in higher level rooms. Hot air tended to rise up the stair well.
Brilliant range of continental and English breakfast in a nice setting. Really nice staff and good service. The room is better than the five star Randolph hotel in the Oxford city centre, and has a decent size en-suite bathroom.
A pot of green tea for two in the afternoon was £6.50 in the back garden, although we had the garden all to ourselves that afternoon. There was no lifts in the hotel but we did leave our baby's pram at the reception.
located in very interesting and enjoyable country town. adjacent to Blenheim Palaceand Churchill's graveyard church 2 miles away.
noisy pub opposite
Lack of parking, very small rooms - especially the standard room for my parents.
From the moment we arrived the hotel staff were extremely hospitable. The room was fantastic, generous family sized room, clean and comtemporary decor. The food was excellent. We ate a la carte in the restuarant, exquisite. Just the food alone would encourage us to stay at the hotel again. The Feathers have got it just right, fantastic hotel and staff. The setting within Woodstock village is another added bonus.
It was perfect.
Comfortable well equipped room. Friendly staff . Brought up complimentary coffee on arrival. Attractive bar And courtyard.
Slow service for food in bar.
The location was excellent and the rooms well appointed
The West facing aspect ment the room heated up and small fan could not cope
We had a wonderful time, the staff were both professional and friendly. The staff were knowledgeable about the food and wine, which was of the highest quality. The bedrooms were tastefully decorated and facilities were good. I would strongly recommend the feathers and we are looking forward to staying again.
I would have liked some tea making facilities in our room.
Great location, very nice appointed rooms Worth every pound
Good room and comfortable surroundings.
Prices too high for an average wine. !0% added to total bill automatically.
Great service. Excellent breakfast. Beautifully decorated room, well kept and clean.
